
Whenever we think of basketball players, tall, rugged looking basketball players come in mind. This is because the sport Basketball is often associated with height and having a tall body is considered beneficial and helpful for those who are into this sport. Most of the international level basketball players are more than 6 feet tall and some are even about 7 feet in height.
But contrary to common notion, there are several basketball players in the world who are not very tall and it won’t be unfair to call them ‘short’. The shortest basketball player in the world is Muggsy Bogues who is only 5 feet 3 inches in height. Earl Boykins is another short basketball player and has a height of 5’5”.
Shortest basketball players are a rare but are not completely nonexistent. Mel Hirsch is a player who is only 5’6” and can be counted as one of the shortest basketball player. The other really short basketball players in the world are Greg Grant, who is 5’7” tall, Keith Jennings of Golden State Warriors, who is also 5’7” in height, Red Klotz of Baltimore Bullets who has a height of 5’7” and Wataru Misaka who is also 5’7” in height.
