
Numerous studies have revealed that stress at workplace is the major stress source that has increased progressively in last few years. With stiff competition from its corresponding businesses, many companies are forcing their employees to work overtime in order to meet the company goals and their personal targets.
According to World Health Organization, job stress will cost the American businesses about $300 billion a year. The major reasons for stress are work overload, conflicts with coworkers, chronic illness, reduced retirement, disputes with family or friends, poor relationship and inadequate nutrition food.
With the increased level of stress at job, the risks of heart attack, diabetes, arthritis, asthma, hypertension and other medical disorders have increased gradually. Through the infographic, it is depicted that stress and work are interrelated in present days and over 79% of employees cite that money and work are the main causes of stress.
When conducted a survey on employees, 38% have reported that they always think about health issues and job concerns while being at workplace and 58% said they have backup plans to get relieved from the job stress.
In comparison to low stressed peers in America, 79% of American employees who are under extreme stress have reported that they had a heart problem and 45% of workers stated that they cannot craft a new idea or solve a complex problem when they feel stressed.
