When and How Often Should You Post on Social Media?

Do you use social media for promotions or just for social activities? How often do you update on Social Media? Before we leap into the specific rules of thumb for each social network, if you have worth content to share that will bring value to audience. Every social network has different posting rules, but if sharing is not going to bring value to your audience, then under no situation is it worth sharing.

Facebook

The universal sweet mark for posting rate is on Facebook for promotions are 1-2 times per day during the week and one time per day on the weekend. Due to the heap recognition of Facebook globally, algorithms have been put in place to filter out posts and display what Facebook feels each user would want to see.

Twitter

Social analyzation says that the success of tweets found the sweet spot for most commerce to be between 4-15 tweets per day. Due to this large range of frequencies, it is essential to test and find the right amount for your commerce. If your commerce is worldwide, post closer to 10-15 tweets per day in order to provide to different time zones. If you are a local business, tweeting 4 times a day may be plenty.

LinkedIn

The frequency of posting on LinkedIn is 20 times per month. The easy way to look at this is 1 post per day during the week. Avoid too many promotional posts on LinkedIn, because it goes against the nature of the site.

Google+

Promotions on google+ show success posting between 1-4 posts per day, during the week. The finest frequency relies heavily on the type of audience your trade has, so pay close attention to the analytics while you experiment with different frequencies.

Instagram

Try not to post more than 7 posts per week on Instagram. There is a rule that you should not post multiple times per day on Instagram.
