In the United States, no one owns more land than the Emmerson Family. With 2,300,000 acres of land across the states of California, Oregon, and Washington, Red Emmerson's company, known as Sierra Pacific Industries, is the country's largest private lumber production firm, and it's home to 14 different sawmills in the United States. The Emmerson Family is just one of the groups that owns a huge amount of land in the U.S., as shown in this new infographic from the team at Madison Trust, who analyzed data from The Land Report 100 to determine who owns the most land in the United States. According to their research, it was found that only three other individuals and groups own at least two million acres of land in the United States, including John Malone with 2.2 million acres, the Reed Family with 2.1 million acres, and Ted Turner with approximately 2 million acres.
