Social media has become a major source for employers or companies to hire skilled and qualified individuals. Social media networks like LinkedIn and Facebook has made the recruitment process bit easier and they help the employers to assess the skill set of a candidate in an easier way.

Records show that in 2012, 92% of companies in United States have used social media networks to find potential and talented employees. Among all the social media networks, 93% of employers prefer to hire individuals who created profile in LinkedIn.

Facebook is used by 66% of employers and 54% companies make use of twitter for recruiting new candidates in the company. Usually employers look into posts and tweets composed by the individuals to check his/her grammar mistakes in the post.

When surveyed 73% of companies have successfully hired candidates through social media in 2012 and in 2011, only 63% companies have used social media for recruiting.
