Most of kids within America are facing new problems such as single parent households, obesity, bullying at schools, poverty and educational disparity, all these issues will make a negative impact on the health of American Youth.
As per the United States Census Bureau, 6 in 10 children living with their mother are below the poverty line and such children will experience few emotional effects such as low self-esteem, increased anger and enhanced risks of violent behavior.
Children with the single parent family experience the feeling of loneliness and they find difficulty in socializing and connecting with others. Generally parentified children feel lack of the emotional bond and face difficulty in making normal adult relationships.
Until the year 1991, 26% of school going children in America has carried a weapon and it has decreased to 17% by the end of 1999. In 2011, with strict enforcement of policies in schools, only 5% high school students carried a weapon along with them.
The infographic shows that 33% high school students were involved in a physical fight and 20% of them were bullied by their mates at school. With abrupt raise in the technology usage, a new form of bullying or violence through text messaging and email has increased.
Obesity is the other major issue among the American youth and it is reported that nearly 1 out of 3 American kids are obese and they become victims of social discrimination.
