What is 3D printing and how does it work? 3D images are created by a CAD professional and sent to a printer where the printing material is selected.

This material is printed layer by layer and the object is formed. Such printers are called Objets and use upto 100 materials including rubber and hard plastics.

The market for 3D printing is today $1.3 billion but is expected to increase 5-fold in just 8 years - a 300% growth.
