Did you know that some foods can actually be as addictive as drugs can be? From the team at How Long to Cook comes this infographic that looks at the most addictive foods out there, using research from a study conducted by the University of Michigan. The study utilized the Yale Food Addiction Scale to determine which foods were the most addictive. In this study, it was found that the ten most addicting foods were pizza, chocolate, chips, cookies, ice cream, french fries, cheeseburgers, soda, cake and cheese, while the ten least addictive foods were found to be cucumbers, carrots, beans (with no sauce), apples, brown rice, broccoli, bananas, salmon, corn (without salt or butter) and strawberries. As to why pizza is considered to be the most addictive, both flavor consultants and scientists have agreed that pizza offers a very tasty combination of salt, fat, and processed carbs, all of which together make it an extremely addictive food.
