Americans's share(71%) of watching online videos has been increased as of this year.
They use YouTube and Vimeo. But five years ago, it was only about half of the share. Lets try understanding reasons behind increased usage.
Lets look at statistics of 2006. Around 33% of users watched online videos. On a typical day its just 8%. But in the later years, the trend increased gradually. For instance, from 2007 to 2011, the percentage of users has reached to 71% from 48%.
Both men and women contributes equal shares of usage. However, 18-29 years old people watch online video sharing sites higher than the remaining age groups. Education background is either college or and higher degrees.
There is slight contrast among rural, suburban and urban users in 2011.And online video watching surpassed other oline activities like social networking, micro blogging, net banking, etc.
