Eversince internet was made accessible to the public domain many web browsers have evolved.
Netscape was the first web browser to be used on the internet in 1994. Opera and Internet Explorer entered the market in 1995 and slowly began competing for their share of browsers. Over the years, Opera had maintained status quo w.r.t the user numbers, but Netscape has been steadily going downhill.
Internet explorer has come out with upgraded versions of the browser and been increasing its user numbers steadily. In 2003 FireFox and Safari entered the domain, followed by Navigator.
2008 saw the entry of a new browser in the form of Google Chrome and is steadily taking over the share of the lesser used browsers.
