Use of Social Media in Law Enforcement

Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and few other social networks are effectively utilized by the police and crime investigation agencies to investigate the criminal cases. By tracking the accused person’s social media account, police try to identify his/her friends, collect photos, find the location at which crime has occurred and identify the criminal activities etc.

Nearly 81% of officials related to the Federal government and 71% of police officials from State government make effective use of the social networks to close down the case.
