Screenplay writing is quite a tough task but it seems like everyone in Hollywood and other movie industries wants to write a movie script. The field of script writing is a very competitive business and turning a script into a real movie is a very difficult task. Some lucky script writers get the opportunity of selling their scripts to big film makers who turn the script into a movie.
The even luckier ones get to earn big fortunes if the movie is a success. The following is the list of the most expensive screenplays in the history of filmmaking:
Déjà vu, which was written by Terry Rossio, is the most expensive script ever as it was sold out for $5 million. Shane Black wrote The Long Kiss Goodnight which too made $5 million and is among the most expensive screenplays to have ever been written.
The scriptwriter of Panic Room earned $4 million for writing the script and is counted as the third most expensive screenplays ever. Taladega Nights was sold out at $4 million by Will Ferrell and is also another expensive screenplay.
Some other scripts to have made big bucks include Euro Trip, Basic Instinct, Medicine Man, The Pink Panther, Mozart and the Whale and A Knight’s tale.
