Internet is here to stay and in a big way. Ho big is it anyway?
In the year 1998, internet had 26 million indexed pages. In the year 2000 it reached the 1 billion mark. By 2008 Google reported a total of 1 trillion indexed pages online.
Royal Pingdom, a technology surveyor reported that in 2008 there were 170 million unique registered URLs. As a result there are anywhere between 235 and 588 unique pages per domain at that time. By 2010, this number increased to 205 million URLs and 48 billion to 121 billion unique pages worldwide.
This means that internet has grown by 21% in 2 years. In other words internet is 1/5th times larger than what it was 2 years ago.
