The 30th Summer Olympics has captivated the audiences spread across the world. There were several contributors behind success of the mega event. For the first time, mobile apps has played the key role in disseminating Olympic news, updates, developments, results and what not.
Among plenty of apps developed solely to serve during Olympics, first comes the official app ‘Join in’ produced by the London Games Organizing Committee. The app allows fans to connect with social media conversations, to view images from each event. It gives full schedule of events and also includes maps to help you get around London.
The other prominent app is ‘Results’, which is responsible for providing latest news from London and featuring realtime, updated results. The 2012 Olympic Medals app presented realtime medal counts, list of schedules, etc. However, all the above mentioned apps including few others were made available for free of cost.
