Apple is one of the most commonly available fruit in the world and is also one of the most produced ones globally. The total world apple production in the year 2011 was 75635283 tonnes. Apple grows on small trees and the tree on which it grows originated in Central Asia.
Apple was earlier grown mainly in Asia for thousands of years before it came to Europe. Then it started getting cultivated in North America and other parts of the world. China at present is the highest apple producing country in the world as it produces 35987221 tonnes of apple every year which constitutes about 51% of the total production.
Another country which produces high quantity of apple every year is United States. US produce about 12% of the total Apple production in the world. With a total of 2891000 tonnes of apple produced every year,
India is another highest apple producing country in the world followed by Turkey which produces 6% of the total production and Poland which produces 4% of the global production.
Some other countries which are among the highest apple producing nations of the world are Italy with 5% production, France with 5% of the total production, and Iran also with 5% of the total production.
