In 2021, the people of China filed 7,066,435 trademark applications, which was a rate of 500.24 per every 100,000 people. While that's not the highest rate per 100,000 people based on the country's total population, it's undoubtedly the most of any other country. In fact, only three countries in the world had more than 500,000 trademark applications filed, as the United States (with 1,193,938) and Germany (with 903,286) followed China. From the team at Nominus comes this new infographic that analyzes which countries applied for the most trademarks around the world. While China, the United States, and Germany had the most trademark applications overall, it was Monaco that had the highest rate of trademark applications, based on their overall population. In Monaco in 2021, there were 4,545 trademark applications filed, making it a rate of 11,609.20 applications per 100,000 people, which was the most globally. Liechtenstein closely followed with an overall rate of 11,412.44 trademark applications per 100,000 people.
