There are several movies made by filmmakers across the world which have been banned due to either moral reasons or for political or censorship issues. Censorship standards are different for different review boards of the countries and may even vary within a country as well.
These review or censor boards rate films on certain points and if a movie fails to be rated beyond a certain fixed number, it is banned from public screening and is prohibited. The following is a list of some of the banned films in the world at present:
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a film which is banned due to extreme level of violence that it has and is banned in Singapore, West Germany, Norway, Iceland and Sweden. The Exorcist is a very scary movie and is thus banned from Singapore.
A movie which is spine-chillingly scary and is banned from Iceland, New Zealand, Norway, Bhutan and Finland is Cannibal Holocaust. Mikey is a movie which too has been banned from UK because it shows a young killer and was considered potentially dangerous to certain audiences. The human centipede 2 is banned from Australia, UK and New Zealand while natural born killers has been banned from Philippines and Ireland.
