America has seen vast improvements in the field of education since 1950.The average salary of the teacher which was $4,000 in the year 1955 is now $39,000. The percent of population of high school graduate over 25 has increase both in whites and blacks. For Blacks it rose from 1.7% to 84.7.
The classroom technology has also evolved. The slide ruler was a great technology in 1950, but in 2012 it is iPad. The spending per pupil has increased from $215 in 1951 to $10,615 in 2010.
Even with all these changes, 1.3 million students drop out of school every year. An America is still in the 14th place for literacy and 25th in mathematics.
