National Awards, a prominent and popular film award ceremony in India. The first set of awards were given away in the year 1954 and from 1973, the event was organized and managed by Directorate of Film festivals related to Indian Government.
The Directorate of Film Festival has released the winner's list of National awards to honour the best films released in 2012 and actors involved in these films. The event is scheduled to be celebrated on May 3, 2013 at New Delhi.
Every year, the Government of India appoints a national panel to select the films and the deserving talent who have entertained and enthralled the audience with their performance. For the year 2012, Irfan Khan and Vikram Gokhale have bagged the national award under best actor category for their electrifying performance in films 'Paan Singh Tomar' and a Marathi film, 'Anumati'.
Usha Jadhav has own the best actress for her stunning performance in 'Dhag', a Marathi Film. Most critically acclaimed films like 'Paan Singh Tomar', 'Kahaani', 'Chittagong' and ' Vicky Donor' have bagged few awards in different categories.
