BuildOn is a non profit organization founded by Jim Ziolkowski. It mainly builds school in developing countries and runs after school programs for the students residing in toughest inner-cities of America.
In last two decade over 500 schools were built by buildOn organization in 9 developing countries. On an average, 75,000 children, parents, and grand parents attend these schools every day. The main reason to build schools is that approximately 72 million in school aged children are not enrolled in any of the schools.
Reports shoes that 1 out every 5 children across the world can neither read nor write and 2/3 rd of these children are girls. The mission of buildOn is to educate mothers because no countries on the globe has achieved rapid economic change without having 40% of adults who can read and write.
Of the total school built in various countries, 189 were constructed in Mali, 88 in Nepal, 86 in Nicaragua and several other countries. Community members have worked for more than 812, 345 days to construct these 500 schools.
