One of the most remarkable authors of children's books, Dr. Seuss had quite an extraordinary imagination while in turn gave the world many of the wonderful characters that have not just been able to teach children a lot of valuable lessons, but have also done the same with many an adult.
But what most people do not realize is the fact that his first book, 'And To Think That I Saw In On Mulberry Street' was rejected by 27 publishers before it was published by the Vanguard Press in the year 1937.
Also, Dr. Seuss was a man of his word. When being bet on the facts that he could not write a book in only 50 words, by his publisher, he came out with Green Eggs And Ham which actually contained a nice story told in exactly 50 words.
