In every region of the world, two things are true -- gay men are at increased risk for HIV, and so are young people. Due to a confluence of factors, young gay men are often left out of research, policy and programs that are designed for general populations.
In March 2012, the global forum on MSM and HIV formed a research team to implement a global survey to identify trends among global gay population; the survey got nearly 2,500 responses.
Stable house and income are important components of HIV prevention many young gay men are dependent on family that do not understand or accept their sexuality putting them at greater risk of losing their housing and financial support which can lead to increase HIV risk behaviors.
