Across different parts of the world, numerous countries host an assortment of gemstones, with certain regions notably more abundant in these precious stones than others. The origins of these gemstones and diamonds have aroused curiosity, spurring a captivating exploration. BriteCo's team eagerly accepted the challenge of constructing a global map that highlights the leading source for over 30 distinct varieties of gemstones, wholeheartedly immersing themselves in this undertaking. The roots of this map can be traced back to data extracted from the 2020 edition of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Mineral Yearbook. This comprehensive compilation meticulously chronicles the yearly yield of a diverse spectrum of gem types, diamonds, and minerals, drawn from countries spanning the globe. Through a scrupulous analysis of records spanning from 2016 to 2020, the team painstakingly evaluated production metrics, quantified in kilograms, specific to each type of gemstone. These data indicators ultimately unveiled the predominant producers in each gemstone classification.
