The above infograph presents the top 100 digital companies located in Chicago. More than 33,000 people are engaged in digital technology companies in Chicago. Currently more than 1,000 companies can be found in the city. However, a new digital start up happened for every 48 hours in 2011.
When we look at the growth from 2007 to 20012, 193 digital companies were launched in the year 2011, and 76 companies were established as of July, 2012. Around 41 per cent of companies related to consumer web and 24 per cent of software companies can be figured among the top 100 companies.
However, majority (71%)of the top 100companies are situated within one mile radius of the Merchandise Mart, Chicago.
