Top 10 VO2max results ever recorded

VO2Max is a method to measure aerobic ability in athletes. The higher the VO2Max, the more oxygen the athlete can use in training and competition. There is usually a strong correlation between VO2Max and success in endurance sports like cycling and cross country skiing.

Norway, for some reason, has recorded many of the top 10 highest scores, leading to speculation as to why that is so, ranging from the impact of cross country skiing to simply testing their athlete's mores.

The top 10 list is:

Oscar Svendsen *
Bjørn Dæhlie *
Espen Harald Bjerke *
Kurt Asle Arvesen *
Greg Lemond
Killian Jornet
Matt Carpenter
Tore Ruud Hofstad*

In this infographic, we plotted the top 10 highest results and noted which country the athlete was from and which sport the athlete competed in. This lets viewers easily see the dominance of the Norwegian athletes and compare which sports score high in this regard as well.
