In the United States, motorcycles have long been a desired mode of transportation for many people. Whether it is for traveling long distances, commuting in crowded cities, cruising around on weekends, or for sport, motorcycles are a part of the lives of citizens in every single state. Judging by this graphic titled U.S. States With the Most Motorcycles, it is interesting to notice that states of the mid to north west often have the highest number of registered motorcycles per 100,000 residents. For example, Montana ranks number one in category, sitting at 6,312.25. Other top states on that list include South Dakota (5,754,81), Wisconsin (5,425.92), and Iowa (5,278.79). These states are known for some of the most scenic and incredible locations, with long stretches of road undisturbed by civilization. From quiet asphalt around the great lakes to undisturbed trails running through state and national parks, these picturesque views make for a dream ride for many motorcycle owners. It is no surprise that even with the small populations of many mid to northwest states, a large portion of their populations would include registered motorcyclists.
