The 9/11 terrorist attack was one of the deadliest attacks on American soil and took the lives of 2,977 victims. A majority of these victims were civilians that were in the Pentagon, the World Trade Center and surrounding areas, or were passengers on the four airplanes. How many of the victims were first responders that arrived on the scene to help? As if the massive amount of fatalities caused by the attacks weren’t bad enough, almost as many lives have been lost in the two decades since the attack from 9/11-related illnesses.
