Billions are spent in the construction industry every year. In 2011, China spent around $950 billion with the USA close behind at $750 billion in construction spending. Mankind loves to build and what we create with wood, metal and glass stands as symbols of our culture and power.

Many famous cities are recognized just by their skyline. The graphic below displays 9 of those famous structures that are known as the tallest buildings in the world. Along with each building are interesting facts, the cost, and years it took to complete.

The Great Pyramid costs are based off of what it would take today to build it. The tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa took 22 million man hours to complete! Out of the 9 buildings, the Eiffel Tower was the cheapest and used the least amount of workers to create; and it only took 2 years to complete.
