Repairing unsightly cracks in concrete is inexpensive and easy. Follow these three steps to fix any crack in concrete up to 1/4 inch wide.
1. Clean the crack by breaking off any thin, brittle concrete near the crack with a masonry chisel and hammer. Then use a hose or pressure washer to remove dirt and loose material.
2. Caulk the crack once the area is dry. Use self-leveling, flexible, waterproof caulk. Ensure the ambient temperature is between 50 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
3. Wait for the caulk to dry. It will typically be ready for light traffic in one hour but shouldn't be driven on for 3-5 days.
