Prostate cancer is a type of cancer that usually forms in prostate gland of male reproductive system. These cancer cells mutilates from prostate to other parts of body which leads to death of the person.
Every year more than 240,000 individuals in United States will be diagnosed for prostate cancer and it is estimated that in 2012, more than 28,170 Americans will die due to prostate cancer. Every 1 out of 36 men in America die with prostate cancer.
Usually the risk of cancer raises with age and individuals aged above 50 years are highly prone to prostate cancer. The prostate cancer risk is double in case of men with family history and mostly African Americans get attacked with the prostate cancer disease.
Some common symptoms that are helpful in detection of prostate cancer include blood in urine, burning urination, frequent urination, difficulty to start urination, numbness of feet, back pain and erectile dysfunction.
Early detection is the best way to treat prostate cancer and in case if the person experiences any of the symptoms, it is better to undergo PSA (prostate specific antigen) and DRE (digital rectal exam) test.
