This Info Graph is produced by Mega Reel and its main purpose is to show the different levels of problem gambling in Scotland, as well as how they may have changed in contrast to the previous year’s gambling report. The data used within this is collected from the 2016 Gambling Commission report of the Industry as a whole.
The basis of these findings show that there is actually a decrease in the number of people gambling, have fallen by -1.8% from the previous year to now stand at 66%. Furthermore, around half the population had gambled on something excluding the National Lottery prize draw, this was a figure that remained unchanged on the previous year.
Only 12% of these had taken part in online gambling, yet another unchanged figure. Potentially suggesting the online gambling world is not as successful as we are lead to believe, with most people doing their gambling in an offline setting.
