Back in 1954, Regency TR-1, the world first commercially produced radio was released. The first stereo audio cassette player, Steriobelt was introuduced in 1972. Sony came up portable cassette player called walkman in 1979. In later years, Sony produced audio players like Discman, MPman, etc.
However, with the arrival of Apple into audio player segment, face of portable music industry has changed radically. In 2001, Apple released its first iPod in 2001 and different generations in the following years. Later generations of iPods e have front cameras and back cameras with video recording facilities.
