Do you include the appropriate amount of vegetables (3-5 servings) per day which is the recommended amount from the USDA food chart? If you are, that is great and now I want to nitpick some of your options even further!
Do you know which of your vegetables are the healthiest? Which are the best options for nutrients, carbs and sugars? This graph from the team at howtocook.recipes surveyed Americans to find out what they thought the healthiest vegetable options were and also which vegetables happened to be their favorite. The results show that the majority of Americans do not know what vegetables are the healthiest based on their nutrient density score. Over 56% of people surveyed believed spinach was the healthiest choice out of the multiple-choice options and only 9.3% correctly guessed the right answer, which was collard greens. This is a great chart to hang in any kitchen!
