It is a myth that only old people are struggling to pay the heating bills. From the surveys conducted it has come to light that in fact it is people aged between 18-39 who are struggling more. Because they are the people who switch off their heating while leaving home.
66.7% of people aged between 21 and 29 switch off their heating while 41.1 % of people aged between 60 and 69 switch off their heating. Another fact is people who are between 18 and 39 borrow money to pay their energy bill. 18.1% of 21-29 year olds borrowed whereas only 1.1% of people aged 70+ borrowed.
And for the borrowed money they pay interests that are extortionate. What is worrying is because of tough economic times, green considerations are getting a backseat.
