It seems like every time you scroll through your newsfeed you come across a new article about all the ways a tech company is using the information they collect on their users. But what information are they actually collecting on you? How much do they really know about you? Extracting information from the privacy policy of eleven giant tech companies, this infographic compares what information each of these companies is collecting on you. Over 60 types of information are collected by these companies, from personal data like your name, age, and phone number to information about the device you’re using such as the mobile carrier or IP address.
Some of the more alarming pieces of information they collect include facial recognition data and keystroke patterns/mouse movements, both of which Amazon, Facebook, and TikTok are guilty of. With so much information for these giant tech companies to collect on their millions (and in some cases, billions) of users, the data service provider industry has grown immensely.
