The first mobile phone call was made from a car in the year 1946 but it was considered impractical. The first SMS was sent in 1992 whereas till the year 2008, 4.1 billion SMSs were being sent every day. Currently there are 3.3 billion mobile phones in the world. The highest number of cell phone subscribers are in China followed by India, USA, Russia and Brazil.

Palm OS was first launched in 1996 and then the Pocket PC 2000 OS was released in the year 2000. The Windows Mobile 2003 OS was launched in 2003 which was followed by the release of the iPhone operating system in the year 2007.
