1. Sony PlayStation & Online Entertainment Hack

In 2011, passwords, credit card details and account information of 77 million users of Sony PlayStation network were hacked in April. Online entertainment of 24.6 million users also got hacked in May. It costed nearly $170 million.

2. RockYou Hack

In December 2009, 32.6 million user account details were hacked. RockYou had to pay $250,000 penalty for violating regulations.

3. Last.FM Hack

In June 2011, passwords of 17.3 million users were hacked.

4. LinkedIn/eharmony Hack

In June 2011,1.5 million eHarmony user passwords and 6.5 million passwords of LinkedIn were leaked. The total estimated cost was $140,000.

5. Gawker Hack

Gawker media servers got hacked in December 2011. User account information including it’s founder Nick Denton’s data was leaked.

6. Yahoo! Hack

Account information of 450,000 users got hacked.
