Coffee, as we know it today, is a brewed beverage but ancient Africans were known to have grounded up the beans, mixed them up with animal fats and make primitive energy ball out of them.

And we all know that goats, eat anything and as history goes, it was due to this nature of goats and their alert goatherd that coffee was discovered in Ethiopia.

Coffee cultivation first started in southern Arabia and the earliest evidence of drinking coffee was found in the Sufi Shrines of Yemen where they were reportedly use in various native religious ceremonies.

As a beverage, coffee brewing happens in a variety of ways but it was somewhere around the 19th century that French diplomat Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord immortalized it for coffee drinkers, with his famous quote “Black as the devil, hot as hell, pure as an angel, sweet as love.”
