While on-the-mat training is the best way to perfect your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) skills, it is not always possible to make it to the gym every day for in-person training.
Luckily, nowadays, almost everything is online. This means that you can easily stream a tournament to critique, find detailed tutorials on youtube and practise some drills, all from the comfort of your home. While a big part of BJJ is practising your moves with another person, you can ask your instructor what drills and moves you can work on to perfect your technique.
If you prefer to wait for your next gym session to practice your drills but still want to take steps to improve, then doing some yoga sessions can significantly improve your performance. Yoga not only helps improve flexibility and strength, but it also conditions your mind and helps with breathing techniques. It is recommended to try and do yoga several times a week to see the benefits in your BJJ training. Find out more ways to perfect your BJJ skills at home here.
