American women started gaining plentiful benefits under the Affordable Care Act, a new health law proposed by President Barack Obama.
Although the act is not fully operational now but many women have already experienced their health insurance and yet more women will see benefits by 2014, August 1.
The act will fetch series of health services to the women starting from Annual well-women visits, screening for gestational diabetes, counseling and screening of HIV, etc. 20.4 million women have already received non-cost coverage of other preventive services under the act.
The act was introduced when reported 52% of women delaying needed medical care, 32% giving up basic necessities to pay for health care expenses.
However 244 republicans voted to repeal the act, and 48 members voted for the blunt amendment on March 1, 2012. Even though, countries like Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, etc have tried to undermine contraceptive coverage through legislative measures.
