With the GDP as low as $348, Congo is the poorest of all the nations. Other nations which come under the poorest countries are Liberia with $456, Zimbabwe with $487, Burundi with $615 and few others. It can be seen that all of the top 10 are African countries and are still battered by poverty, Civil wars, diseases etc.
Not only these, but most of the African countries are considered poor by IMF (International Monetary Fund). Although GDP is not the best indicator of well being of a country, still it is a parameter of a country's growth.
