Grocery bills aren't what they used to be. In fact, between August 2021 and August 2022 alone, food prices jumped by 13.5%, which was double the rate of inflation. So, where are the U.S. cities where food prices have increased the most in recent years? The team at Nadrich & Cohen set out to find out as they found the data and have presented it with this new infographic, which identifies Indianapolis, Indiana as the city that has experienced the largest jump in average grocery bills. In Indianapolis, the average grocery bill has jumped by 50.6% since the start of 2021, with common food items like eggs, bread, cheese, chicken, milk, potatoes, and apples certainly not costing what they used to. Whole milk, for example, saw a larger average price jump in Indianapolis than in any other city, with an average increase of cost of 59%. Wherever you may be, what food items have you seen have the largest price increases over the last couple of years?
