McDonald's has so many social media followers, in fact, that their lead is more than 25 million more users across social media than second-ranked Starbucks, which has 66.8 million social media followers. On this ranking, aside from McDonald's and Starbucks, there are only three old fast food brands that have social media communities of more than 25 million followers, including KFC (with 60.8 million total followers), Pizza Hut (with 35.6 million total followers) and Subway (with 27.1 million total followers). While McDonald's may be the global fast food brand that has the largest total of social media followers across the board, Starbucks actually leads McDonald's both on Twitter and Instagram (28.7 million between the two versus 8.8 million collectively for McDonald's).
