Are you afraid of flying? Millions of Americans are. Each flight that leaves the tarmac has at least a few passengers that are gripping the arm rest with terror at the thought of getting into a plane crash. But how dangerous are planes, really? This new infographic from SmartAdvocate.com, reveals that there were nearly 4,000 plane crash deaths since 2010. In that time, over 20 million people have flown out of the United States alone, so with those statistics, I'd say I like my chances.
Still, flying at 30 thousand feet and knowing there is nothing below you for miles can be disconcerting for an anxious individual. But using this infographic you can determine which airlines are the most dangerous (which crash the most) and which have led to the most deaths. On one hand, you can say that lightning rarely strikes twice but I would surmise that a bad track record is just that and avoid airlines like Malaysia Airlines.
