Vitamin D - the sunlight vitamin - has many health benefits if taken in recommended dosages. Usually it is seen that, infants and children are at more risk of the Vitamin D deficiency. It is been noted that those who have dark skins are bound to have this deficiency. On the other hand, people with white skin are less associated with this deficiency because this skin type absorbs the most sunlight.

The symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency are osteoporosis, diabetes, depression, and few others. Foods rich in this vitamin include salmon, shrimp, cod, eggs, cow's milk. It is said that this vitamin is especially important for the pregnant women, as it gives strong immunity system to babies and reduces the risk of premature delivery.
