Troubles with High Heels

Women love wearing high heels, as they accentuate their body posture. Heels highlight curves and add grace to the gait of women. Who wouldn't like to appear attractive and this is the reason why some women go as far as getting a surgery in order to fit into their favorite shoes.

All this seems great, but using these highly fashionable shoes can have negative effects. This infographic illustrates how wearing high heels can cause different problems in women and what can be done to correct the problem.

With high heels, pressure is exerted more on the knees, as thigh muscles are forced to work harder. Over time, use of high heels may cause osteoarthritis. High heels increase the pressure on forefoot.

Calf muscles and achilles tendon may shorten and tighten when the heel are worn for a long time. Ankle sprain is also caused due to twisting of ligaments connecting the foot and bones. Surgery may be required in some cases to correct the condition, as it gets difficult to relax the foot.
