In California, there are approximately 425,800 electric vehicle registrations, which is 1,083.90 for every 100,000 residents of the state. This is the highest rate and the highest total of any state in America, and by a wide margin. This infographic from the team at Alan's Factory Outlet utilizes data from the U.S. Department of Energy to determine which are the states that have the most electric car registrations per person. According to the research, it was determined that only three states in the United States, aside from California, have more than 50,000 electric vehicle registrations, including Florida (58,160), Texas (52,190) and Washington (50,520). On the other end of the scale, there are seven states which have less than 1,000 electric vehicle registrations, including North Dakota (220), Wyoming (330), South Dakota (410), West Virginia (600), Mississippi (780), Montana (940) and Alaska (940).
