The Social Work Crisis

Looking For Leaders

Social workers all over the world seek to help people to improve their quality of life through community service, researches, direct practice as well as through policy making. But in recent times, there is a crisis being faced by this novel profession with the dearth of new and better leaders to drive, motivate and lead them.

It all started when in 1750 BC King Hammurabi issued his code of justice that stated the need for one person to help the other.

In 500 BC, when the term philanthropy was first used to depict a person who acted on his love for humanity, nobody thought that there might actually come a time when this particular quality would face such a crisis.

With a economic slowdown and a political meltdown, the need is for people who would be exclusively available for people who need their help, people living below the poverty line, homeless and abused.
