The oldest business in operation in the United States is Shirley Plantation. Located in Virginia, the plantation has been in operation since 1613. Descendants of the original owner still live on the plantation today.
The state with the most recently established business is BC Clark Jewelers in Oklahoma City, OK. It was founded in 1892. Their iconic holiday commercial jingle is considered to be the longest-running jingle in U.S. history.
