The Harris Poll’s Reputation Quotient measures the reputation of America’s 100 most visible companies each year in the eyes of the general public. To discover what the 100 most visible companies are, 6,118 U.S. adults were surveyed.
Using this list, 18,228 adults were asked to rank according to six categories: emotional appeal, vision and leadership, financial performance, products and services, social responsibility, and workplace environment.
The most reputable company in 2019 is Wegmans Food Markets. Wegmans is esteemed for its ethics, culture, products and services, and citizenship, ranking #1 in these particular categories.
While Wegmans has heart, Amazon has velocity. Amazon ranks #1 on the 2019 Velocity List, meaning that the public believes it has the most momentum and potential for growth. What about the company or organization that ranks the worst? Shockingly, the public has determined that the U.S. government has the worst reputation of 2019.
The report found that only 9% of adults surveyed believe that the government “shares my values”, and only 10% agree that the government “speaks out on social issues that are important to me”.
